Club Estivo

Every summer, the club returns.

By July, the regulars begin making their way south. The tables at Bar Commxn empty a little earlier, familiar faces disappear for a few weeks, and the city grows quieter. Somewhere between the last espresso and the first aperitivo, life begins to slow.

The Italians have a phrase for it: dolce far niente — the sweetness of doing nothing at all.

This season, the club settles in Tropea, Calabria.

Some arrive from Milano, others from New York, Casablanca, or Tokyo. Different lives, different rhythms, all drawn by the same things: unhurried mornings, aperitivo that lingers long after sunset, and dinners that seem to have no reason to end.

Membership has never been advertised. People usually hear about the club from someone they trust, or find their way to it at precisely the moment they need it.

This season, a limited number of new memberships have been made available.
